Polly Strange

Career: Session vocalist and EDM top line writer, Armada Records, Ministry of Sound

Polly trained at Leeds College of Music and graduated with a BA Hons in Jazz Vocal Studies. After graduating Polly joined original girl band The SheBeats which led to extensive work with some incredible producers such as Steve Levine (BBC Radio 2 & 6, Culture Club, The Beach Boys), George Shilling (Oasis, Eternal), Iain Hill (Jason Mraz, James Morrison) and Kenny Paterson (Texas, Placebo) in top studios such as KensalTown and Abbey Road. She toured supporting Pete Doherty, Babyshambles, The Television Personalities and Marisa Turner, and was selected by Apple to front the launch for Logic MainStage, and by Focusrite for their Saffire Audio Interface.

After over a decade of gigging in a number of bands Polly now prefers to keep her professional work to the recording studio where she works as a session vocalist and top line writer predominantly in the EDM/Trance genre. She’s cowritten and recorded many released tracks including two Beatport Chart number 1s, and her tracks have been featured on multiple Ministry of Sound albums, Armin Van Buuren’s State of Trance and many others. Polly has collaborated and released tracks with some of the top trance DJs in the world such as Neptune Project, Bryan Kearney, Adam Ellis, John O’Callaghan, Sneijder,

Matt Davey, Activa, & Luke Bond.

As a singing teacher Polly’s main area of interest is vocal physiology. She has spent many years studying the voice and is particularly interested in and influenced by the Estill voice training system. Before joining the faculty at Wilkes Academy Polly was Head of Voice and Musical Director at Cirencester College for 7 years where she had the pleasure of working as MD for many musical productions at the Sundial Theatre.
