Lisa Aldridge trained at Elmhurst Ballet School and over the course of her career has worked across the UK and Europe as a classical dancer and teacher.
Lisa’s teaching skills have been employed by some of the UK’s most prestigious professional dance establishments, such as Elmhurst Ballet School, Laine Theatre Arts and Italia Conti Academy. In 2004 she was appointed Head of Ballet at The Centre Performing Arts College where she continued to develop her skills in training vocational students. On re-locating to Wiltshire with her young family in 2008, Lisa joined the staff of Liberatus College and has since taught for Morea Performing arts. Lisa regularly guest teaches for Swindon Dance’s Centre for Advanced Training programme.
She is a Fellow of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and holds both the Certificate of Dance Education for the Cecchetti Ballet Faculty and her advanced qualification for the Royal Academy of Dancing.
In 1997, she was presented with the ISTD Mavdor Award; a bursary for a talented young teacher and was subsequently invited to train as an examiner for the Imperial Ballet faculty. For the past 15 years, Lisa has continued to examine for the society, both at home and abroad and has been invited to adjudicate and teach at the Imperial Ballet Junior and Senior Awards. Having regularly been asked to coach and lecture across Europe, Lisa continues to develop young dancers with a passion for teaching that has remained undiminished.
Her relationship with the ISTD has led to her appointment as a Mentor for their Diploma in Dance Pedagogy programme, mentoring trainee teachers on their journey to completing their Level 6 teaching qualification.
She is Principal of her own dance school which has evolved from her involvement with children and schools in her local community.
Many of Lisa’s ex-Students currently enjoy very successful careers, performing and teaching in companies across the globe. Of this, she could not be more proud.
